Silent Hill 2 Mira Ending - Diorama
I was commissioned by @chemi_ro to paint this kit!
The kit was created by Shinovaz and was released both times at Wonder Festival 2019. The kit comes with a paper craft version of the console screenshot from the game, a resin platform for the two switches Mira messes with in the game, as well as Mira herself!
In summary, when I received the kit, the cast quality was super rough…and some of the parts divisions didn’t make much sense to me. The paper craft was a cute touch, but having a 3d rendered and printed console would be better. Hence I created the console myself!
In addition to this, also include lights and music of the silent hill 2 ending theme song of Mira, haha!
So the dog bone on the front of the base initiates the music theme, while the lights are sadly operated only on the bottom of the base due to re-design of the base at a later time. The music is amplified at the center of the base where there is an open drain to let the sound out. Inspiration for the console 3d design is based on screenshots from the game as well as someone’s artistic render of their own copy of Mira and the console base by Shinobaz.
Modifications include:
- 3D Sculpted and printed the whole console, flooring (base), chair, music button.
- Remade the headphone microphone.
- Modified Miras sculpt slightly since it was in rough shape.
- Electronic components were added to this diorama including the ending music theme by toggling the square bone button on the base. LEDs are also implemented and are manually turned on by the battery pack on the bottom of the base, and can be switched to timer mode to auto sut off after so many hours.
